How do I update renamed collections?
In Tree editor, click Refresh from Shopify. New collection titles come in without changing your arrangement, deleted collections are flagged, and your display names are kept.
What it is
Your category tree keeps a copy of each collection's details so it can show trails quickly. If you rename a collection in Shopify after adding it to the tree, the tree may still show the old name. Refresh from Shopify pulls the latest collection details into the tree. If a collection in your tree has been deleted from Shopify, the refresh flags it so you can deal with it, instead of leaving a broken entry in your trails.
How to set it up
Open Tree editor.
Click Refresh from Shopify.
The app re-reads your collections and menus from Shopify and brings in any new names. Your arrangement isn't changed.
Look for collections flagged as deleted. Remove them from the tree, or move their child collections under a different parent.
Check the affected trails in the storefront preview.
If you removed or moved anything, click Save to publish the updated tree.
If you've set a display name on a collection, it stays in place after a refresh. Display names are your own labels and aren't overwritten by Shopify titles.
Why it's useful
Collections change over time: seasonal ranges are renamed, old lines are removed, and new ones are added. Refreshing keeps your breadcrumbs in step with your catalog, so shoppers never see an outdated name or a link to a collection that no longer exists. Flagging deleted collections is especially important, because a dead link in a breadcrumb sends shoppers to an error page and looks unprofessional. A quick refresh after any big catalog update keeps everything accurate, without rebuilding the tree from scratch.
