How do I let AI build the tree (Magic import)?
Magic import gives you a ready-made prompt describing your collections. Paste it into ChatGPT or Claude, import the file it returns, and review every change before you save. It is available on paid plans.
What it is
Magic import uses an AI assistant you already have, such as ChatGPT or Claude, to suggest a category tree for your store. The app writes a ready-made prompt that describes your collections. You paste it into the assistant, and it returns a file with a proposed structure. You then import that file and review every change before anything is saved. Magic import is available on paid plans.
How to set it up
Open Tree editor and click Magic import.
Copy the prompt the app prepares for you.
Open ChatGPT or Claude in another tab and paste the prompt in.
The assistant replies with a file. Download or copy it as instructed.
Back in the app, import that file into Magic import.
Review the proposed changes. You can see what moves where before you accept anything.
Adjust anything you disagree with, then click Save to publish the tree.
If you're on the free plan, the Magic import option shows an Included in a higher plan link that takes you to the Pricing page.
Why it's useful
Arranging a large catalog by hand can take hours, especially if you have hundreds of collections with names that don't follow one pattern. Magic import gives you a sensible first draft in minutes, grouping related collections and suggesting parent categories you might not have thought of. Nothing changes until you've reviewed and saved it, so you stay in control. It works with an assistant you already use, so you don't need a new account, and the prompt is ready-made, so you don't need to know how to write one.
