How do I know setup is done?
Setup is done when all three steps of the Get set up checklist on Home are marked done: block added, tree arranged and style picked. The checklist reads your actual store, so a step only turns done once it is really live.
What it is
The Home screen has a setup checklist that tracks your progress. It covers the three things a complete setup needs:
Block added: the breadcrumb block is placed and saved in your theme.
Tree arranged: you've built or reviewed your category tree.
Style picked: you've chosen how the breadcrumb looks.
Each item is marked as done when the app sees that step is finished, so the checklist always reflects what's actually live on your store.
How to check it
Open the app. It starts on Home.
Look at the Get set up checklist.
For any step that isn't marked done, click its button to go straight to the right place. Set up pages opens the theme editor, the tree step opens the Tree editor, and the style step opens Settings › Breadcrumb style.
Finish the step and save. In the theme editor, that means clicking Save. In the app, use the save bar.
Come back to Home. The step now shows as done.
If you've added the block but it doesn't show as done, check that you clicked Save in the theme editor and that you added it to the theme you're setting up.
Why it's useful
Setting up an app can leave you unsure whether everything really worked. The checklist removes that doubt by checking your actual store instead of relying on memory. You can do the setup in short sessions, and the checklist shows exactly where you stopped. It also catches common mistakes, such as adding the block to an unpublished theme or forgetting to save in the theme editor. When all three steps are done, you know shoppers are seeing a working, styled breadcrumb trail built from your categories.
