How do I build my category tree?
Open Tree editor, add your collections and drop one onto another to nest it (for example Dresses onto Clothing), then click Save. You can also start from your store menu with From menu, or let AI draft it with Magic import.
What it is
The category tree is the map the app uses to build your breadcrumbs. It's a nested list of your Shopify collections, arranged the way you'd describe your store to a shopper. For example: Women › Clothing › Dresses. When a shopper lands on a product or collection, the app finds it in the tree and shows the path from Home down to that page.
Shopify collections are a flat list with no parent-child links. The tree adds that missing structure, and it doesn't change your collections themselves.
How to set it up
Open Tree editor from the app's navigation.
Add the collections you want in your breadcrumbs.
Drag collections up and down to set their order.
To nest a collection, drop it onto another collection. It becomes a child of that collection. For example, drop Dresses onto Clothing.
Keep nesting until the tree matches how your store is organised.
Select any collection to check its trail in the storefront preview.
Click Save in the save bar to publish the tree to your storefront.
You can also start faster by importing your store menu (From menu) or letting AI propose a tree (Magic import), then fine-tuning by hand.
Why it's useful
A clear tree gives shoppers breadcrumbs that make sense, like Home › Women › Clothing › Dresses instead of a single flat collection name. That helps people understand where they are, step back to a broader category, and find related products without using search. A logical structure also helps search engines understand how your catalog fits together. The app can publish your trail as breadcrumb structured data, which can help Google show a clean category path in search results. Because the tree is separate from your collections, you can reorganise it any time without affecting collection URLs, menus or products.
