How do I undo a chosen category?
Click Reset on the product's row in Products and confirm. Your choice is removed and the product goes back to the deepest matching category in your tree.
What it is
If you've used Choose to pick a product's category yourself, you can undo it at any time with Reset. Resetting removes your manual choice, and the product goes back to the app's automatic rules. It then uses the deepest category from your tree among the collections it belongs to. Nothing else about the product or its collections changes.
How to set it up
Open Products.
Find the product whose category you chose. The Custom tab lists these along with other products that follow your tree.
Click Reset on its row.
Confirm when the app asks. This step stops you from resetting a product by accident.
The product's tag and reason update to show its automatic breadcrumb. Depending on its collections, it may now show as Custom, Can improve, Automatic or Needs review.
If you change your mind, use Choose again to pick a category.
Why it's useful
Manual choices are great for exceptions, but catalogs change. A product you placed by hand during a promotion might belong back in its normal department afterwards, or you might reorganise your tree so the automatic choice becomes the right one again. Reset lets you clear old overrides quickly and cleanly, so your breadcrumbs stay accurate as your store grows. The confirmation step protects your work. Because Reset only removes the override, you can safely experiment with chosen categories, knowing you can always go back to the default.
