How do I change the font size, colours or Home label?
Click the Breadcrumbs by Shopgears block in Shopify's theme editor, change Font size, the colour settings or the Home label, then click Save. These settings are saved with each template.
What it is
The app's Breadcrumb style sets the overall look of the trail. The finer details are controlled in the theme editor, in the settings of the Breadcrumbs by Shopgears block. Because these settings live on the block, they're saved with your theme and can differ between page templates. The block settings are:
Trail: Show "Home" link and Home label, so you can rename "Home" to something like "Shop" or "Store".
Sizing: Font size, Gap between crumbs, Base padding and Side spacing.
Colours: Link colour, Current page colour and Separator colour.
Advanced: Custom CSS.
How to set it up
Open the theme editor. From the app, use Set up pages on Home, or go to Online Store › Themes › Customize in Shopify.
Open a product or collection template that has the breadcrumb block.
Click the Breadcrumbs by Shopgears block to open its settings.
Adjust the font size, spacing, colours and Home label. The preview updates as you change them.
Click Save in the theme editor.
Repeat on other templates if you want the same changes there.
Why it's useful
Small details make a breadcrumb feel native to your theme. Matching the font size and colours to your theme's text makes the trail look built in, and a distinct current-page colour helps shoppers see where they are at a glance. Renaming "Home" lets the trail use your brand's voice. All of this happens in the familiar theme editor with a live preview and no code. Your choices also survive app updates, because they're stored in your theme.
