How do I find a product's collection in the tree?
Click View in tree on a Custom product in Products. Tree editor opens with the collection behind that product's breadcrumb already selected.
What it is
On the Products page, any product tagged Custom has a View in tree action. It opens the Tree editor with the collection behind that product's breadcrumb already selected, so you can see exactly where it sits in your category tree. You don't have to search or expand branches yourself.
How to use it
Open Products and find the product. The Custom tab lists products whose breadcrumbs follow your tree.
Click View in tree on its row.
The Tree editor opens with the product's collection selected.
The storefront preview shows that collection's full trail and the products in it, including the one you started from.
If the collection is in the wrong place, drag it under a different parent, or give it a display name for a shorter label.
Click Save to publish any changes, or leave without saving if you were only checking.
Why it's useful
Large trees can have hundreds of collections across many levels, and finding one by scrolling is slow. View in tree takes you straight from a product to the part of the tree that controls its breadcrumb. That's especially handy when a trail looks wrong on your storefront: start from the product, jump to its collection, and fix the structure in one go. Because changing a collection's position affects every product in it, seeing the collection in context also helps you understand the wider effect of a change before you save it.
