How do I test my schema with Google?
Save your changes, open the type's page in SEO schema and click Rich Results Test under Test with Google. Google's tool opens on a sample page from your store.
What it is
Google offers a free tool called the Rich Results Test. It reads a page and reports which structured data it finds and whether that data qualifies for rich results in Google Search. Each schema type's page in the app has a Test with Google section with a Rich Results Test button. It opens Google's tool for a sample page on your store, so you don't have to find a suitable URL yourself. Next to it is a Schema Markup Validator button for a general check.
How to set it up
Make sure the type is switched on in SEO schema, and the SEO schema app embed is on (or, for Breadcrumb, the breadcrumb block is placed).
Save any changes first. Both tools read the live page, so they test what you've saved, not unsaved edits.
Open the type's page in the app, scroll to Test with Google, and click Rich Results Test.
Google's tool opens and tests the page. This can take a few moments.
Review the results. Google lists the items it found and any errors or warnings.
If there are errors, go back to the type's setup page in the app, fix the details and save, then run the test again.
If your store is password-protected, Google can't read your pages, so run the test after removing password protection.
Why it's useful
Google's own tool is the most reliable way to confirm that your structured data is valid and eligible for rich results. Testing gives you confidence that the work you did in the app will actually be understood by Google. Having the link on each type's page saves time and avoids testing the wrong kind of page. Running a quick test after setup, and again after big changes to your theme or apps, catches problems early, long before they would show up as missing rich results in Search Console.
